Almond welcomes Conductor Honna Tetsuji for general management
Maestro Honna Tetsuji, based in the Vietnam capital of Hanoi, has been Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) since 2009, and is one of the leading figures in the Vietnamese music world today. He brought the VNSO to Japan in 2018 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam and has also taken the VNSO around the world, including major halls in the United States, Russia, and Italy.
In 2012 Maestro Honna was awarded the Cultural Merit Award by the Vietnamese government for his many years of contribution to music in Vietnam. In 2018, he was awarded the Commemorative Medal of Peace and Friendship by the Federation of Vietnam Friendship Organizations and Countries.
